She's Done it Again!

You've seen her double pointed and straight needle cases and you've seen her fabulous sock sacks, well, the amazing Georgann has done it again! Now available (in very limited quantities) are her beautiful circular needle cases.


The fabrics are so lovely and there are 16 pockets and each pocket has a tab for labeling!

Here are pictures of the straight and double pointed cases. Pretty, aren't they?


And, what is this little torture device, you ask? Why, it's two socks being knit at the same time on double pointed needles. For illustration and class purposes, I'm knitting two socks at the same time in different colored yarns. One sock is inside the other; the outer layer (tan) is the inside of one sock and the inner layer (brown) is the outside of the other sock. Intriguing, isn't it? One wrong move and your socks are forever joined!



The class is full, but there has been so much interest in this technique that I will be offering the class again. Be sure to watch my website for more information.

Pretty Cute, Isn't He?

When Amy came for class, she brought in Elijah whom she was knitting for a coworker's toddler. I'd never seen this little guy and I was immediately obsessed. Had to have one.

Here's my Elijah. He's knit in Cherub Kaleidoscope DK. He didn't take very long to knit, but since it's a fussy little pattern, I decided to hold a class. Although it's a fussy pattern, it's very ingenious. Ysolda Teague is very clever. He's knit all in one piece and new techniques to learn are the lighter circular cast on, short rows, and picking up stitches in odd places.


And because I'm nuts, I'm also holding a class to knit two socks at the same time on double pointed needles using a century old pattern. Should be lots of fun!

I'm cooking on Dad's vest.



I know it looks kind of small, but thanks to the miracles of blocking, it will fit. I'm really happy with the colors. Many thanks to all of my color consultants!

Happy New Year!

Even though I've been very, very busy mismanaging the biggest uncampaign in the state of Illinois history, I've managed to get quite a few things accomplished over the last month.





I knit Santa a beard.







I made doll sweaters for my two darling granddaughters. I wish I could also take credit for the spectacular skirts, but alas, they were the made by the amazingly talented, Georgann.















I gave Dad the stocking for Christmas...


and he liked it so well, I decided to make him this.


It's the Latvian Vest by Kieran Foley from the latest issue of Knitty.com. Dad's going skiing in France tomorrow and I wish it were done. He'd look just grand sitting around the fireplace in this beauty. Since it doesn't have sleeves, I should have it done soon. There will be other ski lodges this winter he can look grand in.



I made this mitten for my knitting class. And no, it doesn't have a mate!
