Charity Knitting

I made our first delivery of prosthetics to the Little Company of Mary Cancer Center several weeks ago and they were absolutely thrilled to receive them. Our soft, little beauties will be put in gift bags that will contain with a camisole to hold the prosthetic and other feel good items. These gift bags will be distributed to women who undergo mastectomies at the Cancer Center over the next year.

My heartfelt thanks go out to all of you who helped make this first delivery of 20 cozy boobs a reality. I have asked the hospital to provide me with feedback on how their patients like our handiwork and will make a full report here when that occurs.

Our help is still needed and we now have two Charity Knitting Nights a month! You can now join us at one of two locations, here at Nana's Knitting Shop and at Dr. Nancy Church's office in Beverly. Dr. Church has graciously offered her office on the first Thursday of the month as a gathering place for our charity knitting.

The next meeting will be held at Dr. Church's office, which is located at 10725 South Western Avenue, on Thursday, January 3 at 6:30 p.m.

Supplies may be purchased at Nana's Knitting Shop prior to the event and the pattern and assistance will be provided at Dr. Church's office. If you go, be sure to bring your sizes 5 & 6 double pointed needles.

The next meeting at the Shop will be held on Tuesday, January 22 at 6:30 p.m.

Thank you again for your continued support and I wish you all a very happy New Year!
